The Royal Academy of Arts & Education Building confidence, achieving success! To inspire, promote and foster learning, while contributing to the growth of a student’s mind, interests and experiences through commitment, encouragement and student centered teaching. Music lessons and more in Georgetown The Royal Academy of Arts & Education was founded in 2003. The Academy is owned and operated by Sabrina Corker and Connie Ward of Georgetown. Sabrina and Connie started teaching music and tutoring in-home. As the demand for their services grew, they decided to open a location in the Georgetown Marketplace, which is currently home to hundreds of families each year. The Academy was created with the philosophy that student-centred teaching, professional and dedicated staff, combined with exceptional customized curriculum is the perfect way to stimulate and motivate students.
The main objective to learning any instrument is to develop a love of music, problem solving skills and to be a disciplined learner. Lessons are once per week for 30 minutes. Basic theory is covered in all beginner lessons to solidify new concepts and ensure proper understanding from beginning. Weekly practice is required in order for students to progress in their musical endeavours. Here, at The Royal Academy of Arts and Education, students can choose from an open curriculum program whereby they study their favourite artists and pieces, or work through Royal Conservatory content eventually preparing for levelled examinations.
